Conference Week Oct. 20-23.

Kindergarten is not holding conferences next week since we just recently met for WAKIDS conferences. If you would like to schedule a conference, just e-mail me at kenneth.dekker@evergreensps.org for a conference time.

Pumpkin Palloza is comming!

October 26th-30th from 2:30-3:15

Volunteers are welcome!  Let me know if you want to volunteer.

We will not be going to the pumpkin patch this year because we wanted to think of a more enriching feild trip for the kids.  We are looking at taking the kids to a play this year.  More to come on that.

We will be having our annual pumpkin palooza this year...

The kids will rotate to each class where they will do a different activity involving pumpkins.

What we are working on...

• writing our names with all the correct upper case letters
• writing letters with the correct formation (our letters start at the top)
• correct pencil grip
• Thinking strategies while we read a book...predict, re-tell, connect
• representing quantities 1-5 with pictures and symbols.

Coming up...

We will be checking out our first library book in October.  Please look for the library sheet coming home in your child's backpack.

Endeavour PTO night!  This is an open house event. 
Open house is from 4:00pm-5:00pm where the classroom will be open.
BBQ and family fun from 5:00-6:30pm



Same Day...
Walk 'n' roll event.
We encourage kids to be healthy by walking or riding to school that day.  Please remember that bikes, scooters and skateboards are not allowed on the bus at the end of the day.  You can pick the scooter, skateboard, or bike up at the BBQ. 

First week of Kindergarten

First week of Kindergarten was very successful.  The students have been making new friends and learning new routines.  The excitement of something new has begun to wear off and I am finding the students getting tired towards the end of the day.  Perfectly normal.

• Pay back coupon books are coming home.  This is a great fundraiser for our school.  Please take the time to read the information

Welcome to my classroom blog!  I wanted to welcome everyone to Kindergarten.  We are going to have a great year.

Things to remember for the week...

• School starts at 9:05
• Everyone is welcome to bring their students to the classroom, make sure it is a quick good bye
• Have the bus card filled out with all the information and attached to your students backpack
• School ends at 3:45
• If you are picking your student up, please wait by the kindergarten pick up area.
• Do not take your student until I have made eye contact with you and give your student a "high five"

Again, I want to welcome you to our classroom and I look forward to getting to know my new students.
